Granite Brewery Peculiar

Granite Brewery’s Peculiar Ale is very aptly named. It’s a combination of things that should be impossible in a beer. The colour is a dark brown when poured, yet the aroma is very fruity and has a strong aroma of bananas. The flavour starts with sweet malts and hints of fruit and moves to a dry hoppy finish. After pouring and seeing the colour, the banana aroma caught me off guard, so I was really interested to see what the taste would be like. Granite Brewery and their brew pub are located in midtown Toronto, but their beer is also occasionally available at the LCBO. Peculiar Ale is a little stronger in alcohol content at 6% ABV.
