Georgian Bay Beer

I picked up a can of Georgian Bay Beer on the weekend, not knowing much about it. The can doesn’t even tell you what kind of beer it is. It apparently is brewed by Midland Beer Works in Tiny, Ontario (I’ve seen it on a map, but have never been through Tiny). Upon more research it appears to be affiliated with Hockley Valley Brewing. The Georgian Bay Beer website is of little information.

The beer appears to be a golden ale, with a straw body and a white foamy head. The aroma is very grassy. The flavour has hints of sweet malt and grass and has a slight bitter pine finish that lingers, but is pleasant due to not being so strong. This isn’t a masterful craft brew, but it’s quite drinkable if you’re looking for something simple and ordinary. I was prepared for something awful and came away satisfied.
