Alexander Keith’s Cider

My last post before Christmas was on a Daily Mail article on the rise in popularity of cider in Europe. In that post, I speculated cider might be able to get a bigger crowd if those marketing it left the beer crowd alone and went after the alco-pop/cooler crowd. Alexander Keith’s Original Cider is a Canadian cider, if I can really call it that. It doesn’t have much representing a cider at all. Its light yellow colour does represent a cider, but the carbonation is quite strong. There is an apple flavour and aroma, but this drink is too carbonated and far too sweet to be called a cider. It’s more of an alcoholic apple soda. the boys from Nova Scotia oughtta stick to their comme ci comme ça beer.
