Nightmare on Mill Street

I had a chance to try Nightmare on Mill Street, Mill St.’s seasonal pumpkin ale, this evening. I look forward to this time of year for beer drinking and one reason is breweries like to release Oktoberfest and pumpkin ales.

Nightmare on Mill Street has the pour and aroma one would expect from a pumpkin ale. The body is orange with a beige head and the aroma has hints of spice, nutmeg, brown sugar and of course, pumpkin. The taste is disappointing though. It has spices, but is too light and watery and too smooth. The finish measures up well with long lasting hints of cinnamon. This is unbalanced, but overall, a pretty good beer for the style.

Happy autumn.
