Spitfire Kentish Ale

This is an English bitter I’ve been enjoying a little from the LCBO lately. Apparently, it’s called Shepherd Neame Spitfire in the UK, but the label on this side of the Atlantic, only has reference to Shepherd Neame on the small print.

The beer pours with a clear amber body without too much carbonation and a small, white head. The flavour is a lot like a hoppy bitter that you’d expect. The flavour and aroma are both very roasted. The finish is a little harsh in bitterness and has a mix of malt. The finish is quite long. I like the beer, though I’m not a big fan of English bitters. If you’re a fan of these styles, maybe you’ll like this.
