Beer in Corner Stores in Ontario

There was recently a petition presented to Queen’s Park with over 112,000 signatures looking to expand beer and wine sales into corner stores in Ontario. The government put an end to that idea saying the LCBO is an effective way to make money distribute alcohol in Ontario, ignoring the fact many large wineries set up their own shop in grocery stores and the majority of Beer sales are made through a retail monopoly run by giant conglomerates in Sapporo, InBev and Molson Coors. I’ve stated previously why I think the “socially responsible” idea is to allow beer and wine sales in corner stores. But Dalton McGuinty knows more about being socially responsible than I do. He strongly believes in taking money from helping the poor with constant raising of minimum liquor prices.
