Sapporo is safe to drink

I overheard a conversation at the LCBO yesterday where a customer was concerned about future shipments of Sapporo. The city of Sapporo is in northern Japan, but far more north from where the earthquake and tsunami of last week hit. As well, northern Japan is undergoing a nuclear crisis, which led to the concern of whether or not Sapporo will be safe to drink in the near future.

Don’t worry. If you love Sapporo (lately I have), look at a can, bottle or case box. It is brewed in Guelph, Ontario. This is because Sapporo’s parent company purchased Sleeman a few years ago and the Sapporo you buy in Canada is made alongside Sleeman products. Your Sapporo is safe.
