Beer tent lineups

Eye Weekly had a great story published today about the lameness of Ontario liquor laws vs. other provinces (like Quebec and B.C.) when it comes to events. The example Eye uses is Olympic Island and concerts where one has to wait in line, be mostly caged in and miss some of the concert in order to enjoy a beverage. The McGuinty government is really a no-fun parent-state government when you look at other issues like its continued ban of mixed martial arts. In any American NFL city, they have tailgate parties where you BYOB and food and have a party in the parking lot. In Toronto, when the Bills are in town, you’re cordoned off a couple of blocks away in some beer tent and made to pay $8 if you want a beer.

Anyway, you can read the story here.
