Boreale Blonde

Boréale Blonde is a blonde ale brewed by Blainville, Quebec’s Les brasseurs du Nord. The beer is not easily available outside French Canada. A neighbour who is originally from Montreal gave me a 341 ml bottle.

The beer’s colour is light amber, slightly darker than a lager. The taste has some hoppy bitterness and really does go down as a pilsner more than an ale. The aftertaste has a slight tinge of grassiness. At 4.5 per cent, it is not too strong and definitely drinkable. It’s a good summer beer.

Les brasseurs du Nord has other beers under the Boréale brand. These include Rousse, a red ale, a stout called Noire, and a honey ale called Dorée. More information can be found here.
